The films director, Robert Rodriguez tweeted this “I just finished working with LadyGaga on MacheteKills,” along with the poster (seen above) that reads, “Lady Gaga as La Chameleon.”

Breaking News: Ghana President John Atta-Mills dies at 68

Ghana President John Atta-Mills has died at the age of 68, according to a statement from the Presidential Palace in the capital, Accra.

He died on Tuesday after taking ill.

He clocked 68 on July 21.

“It is with a heavy heart…that we announce the sudden and untimely death of the president of the Republic of Ghana,” the statement said.

It said the president died a few hours after being taken ill but no further details were given.

May his soul rest in peace... AMEN

Breaking news: Bomb discovered and defused in Ikeja, Lagos this morning

A bomb was found in a room at Reliance Hotel located on Emina Crescent off Amore Crescent, off Toyin street, Ikeja this morning.

Apparently, three men slept in the hotel room a night before and checked out this morning (July 18). A cleaner went into the room and discovered the bomb. The hotel alerted the anti-bomb squad, who worked to successfully detonate the bomb.

Tiwa Savage and Wizkid unveiled as Pepsi ambassadors

Mavin Records star, Tiwa Savage and EME’s Wizkid were on Wednesday night officially unveiled as ambassadors of one of the leading soft drinks in Nigeria, Pepsi.
Wizkid recently won the Best International Act (Africa) in the notable BET awards held in Los Angeles, United States. Tiwa Savage was also the co-host of the reality TV show ‘Nigerian Idol’ Season Two which was sponsored by Pepsi.

UPDATE: 95 people confirmed dead in Rivers oil tanker fire

At least 95 people who went to scoop up oil from an overturned oil tanker were killed after the vehicle caught fire, a road safety official in southern Nigeria’s Rivers state told AFP.

“Ninety-three were burned to death on the spot. Two died later in the hospital (and) 18 people were seriously injured,” said Kayode Olagunju, sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission in the state.

Breaking News: P Square loses mom.... R.I.P!!

One of Nigeria's biggest and fast-rising R&B duo, Psquare, lost their mother Mrs Josephine Okoye yesterday July 11. Sources say she was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital after a brief illness and was receiving medical treatment, she was later flown to India for further treatment.

The nature of her illness was not disclosed however she passed after surgery yesterday. She unfortunately died while responding to treatment.

No words can verbalize the feeling of losing one's mother. I pray God gives the family the strength to bear the loss. May her soul rest in perfect peace!!

Sad news: Usher's step-son declared brain dead..

Usher's 11-year-old stepson has been declared brain dead by doctors following the accident yesterday when he was struck by a jet ski.

Sadly, there has been no brain activity since he was admitted to the hospital. No decision has been made so far on whether or not to take him off life support.

Really sad news... My heart goes out to the family!!

Please let us save George Chimezirim Egbuchulam. George is a graduate of the English Department, University of Ibadan and he hails from Owerri North Local Government, Imo State. He was to go for service early 2010, when he was diagnosed for Renal Failure.

He has finished youth service at Edo State and has applied for his Masters Study in English when he became seriously ill as a result of failure of his two kidneys. He is currently being hospitalized at University College Hospital, Ibadan. There his life is threatened by chronic kidney failure, he suffers pain with weekly dialysis and has his body punctured at the right arm and lower abdomen.

The pains are unbearable, George screams when he is touched because of the toxic materials stored up in his system. N60, 000 is spent on George on a weekly basis at the hospital. George is on kidney dialysis in the South West Ward 3, UCH, Ibadan. . He needs money for kidney transplant and it will cost N7 million.

I know personally what it's like to lose a loved one to an untimely death.
